Painted Hills Porterhouse Steak

Image
My review of  Painted Hills Natural Beef  located in  Wheeler County Oregon.   This all natural beef has NO growth hormones, NO antibiotics, No by-products. The cattle are fed a 100% Vegetarian diet. For a large portion of their lives they free range on rolling grass hills and at about 14 months the cattle are moved to a finishing facility in which they are fed a combination of locally grown barley, corn and alfalfa hay.   This farm also has Grass Fed Beef which I cannot wait to try. The differences between Grass Fed and all Natural Beef are simple. Grass-Fed Beef Cattle are pastured and maintained on a grass fed diet. 100% Corn-Free Veg Diet.   Let's talk a little about where I purchased these delicious steaks. There is a quaint little Meat Shop located in Gig Harbor Wa that has everything "MEAT" . My buddy Mike works there and he cut these special steaks just for me.  Mike has been aroun...

Keto Buffalo Balls

Why make Keto Buffalo Balls? First, let's answer the proverbial question... what the hell is Keto. Keto is is a way of saying I am on a Keto diet. A Keto diet which is well known for being a low carb, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. I lost a ton of weight, became healthy, Cholesterol was cut in half, blood pressure normal, triglycerides normal (Doctor was floored) and all blood tests were abnormally great. It took me three weeks to get into a Ketosis state, and it was extremely hard to maintain. What floored the Doctor was I was eating a lot of meat and fat but damn it I had to cut carbs below 20 grams to stay in Ketosis. Once you go out of Ketosis, it was hard to get back in.   As you may remember the '90s was a time when fat was the bad for you. The FAT-FREE BOOM i...

Red-Boat Vs Red-Boat "Steak Faux Aging Experiment"

Image
This is overdue!!! Contestants take your positions and hold on for a Fauxtastic Ride. If you've been following my posts, you know I love to  Faux Age steaks  with Red-Boats Fish Sauce and Fish Salt, so this new post shouldn't surprise you. I've already concluded that my family likes the  Fish Salt version of Faux Aged steaks over the Sauce version , but this could change. In the linked versions above I used 3% but now have determined that I prefer 1.75%-2.25%. Also, I will be contrasting three more versions of Red-Boat sauces.  First, a little about RED-BOAT: this is taken from their Web-Site.  After moving to the United States, Cuong Pham was hungry to recreate the tastes and smells of his childhood in Saigon. But not even the vibrant Asian markets of San Francisco offered the intensely fragrant   nước mắm nhi   that Cuong remembered from Vietnam. So in 2006, Cuong decided that if he couldn't find it, he would make it — and star...
